This subject looks at the nature of common disease states including signs and symptoms that a tactile therapist may encounter in clinical practice. This course will include a research project - Develop Professional Expertise. Available through Distance Education (home study) if required.

• Manage a Practice - Business Mastery
(Pre-requisites: Occupational Health and Safety preferred)
A broad range of business and marketing subjects are covered to teach the practitioner about the requirements for successful practice. The course is taught by business professionals who practice Tactile Therapies and ensure the information is related specifically to your needs.

This subject is designed for all Tactile Therapists wishing to enter professional practice by exploring a broad range of approaches to communication and counselling with the client. Counselling skills are vital for those who wish to run a successful clinic.

This module is a compulsory subject required by all associations and health funds and must be undertaken at the Academy unless otherwise advised.
• Manage Occupational Health and Safety
(Pre-requisites: None)
This subject covers such topics as infection control, occupational health and safety issues. This subject should be taken before undertaking Manage a Practice and is a pre-requisite for undertaking supervised clinics. Development of policy and procedures manuals is discussed in this course.
• Exercise Therapy Rehabilitation
(Pre-requisites: Massage II)
These courses are designed for Remedial Therapists who would like to teach their clients specific exercises to address most common complaints such as lower back pain, shoulder and hip dysfunction and weak musculature. The course will be practically orientated and involve the latest methods in exercise technologies.

(Pre-requisites: All subjects pertaining to your particular qualification)
These clinics are the final stage before completion of Diplomas. All subjects pertaining to the Diploma must be finished before undertaking this final stage.
• Maintain Personal Health
(Pre-requisites: None)
This subject is completed off campus. Students will undertake various health building activities that will prepare them for professional practice in Tactile Therapies.

Myofascial stretching is a self treatment technique that results in permanent lengthening of the body’s connective tissue and has the capacity to dramatically improve health and quality of life.
