Overview - How to Choose
• Casual or Home Use Student
You may study any subject that has no pre-requisites, at any time it is offered. Complete that subject for a Statement of Completion certificate. Do as many subjects as you want, when you want, for professional or home use. You do not have to commit to a full Certificate IV or Diploma.
• Career Minded student
Decide on the specialisation pathway for your qualification. You may undertake as many specialisations as you wish to gain multiple Diploma qualifications, according to your interests. Alternatively, you may undertake the Clinical Therapy specialisation to create your own Diploma.
• Diplomas
Diplomas that are Government accredited are now required by most Private Health Funds and Workcover to qualify for a practitioner provider number. Provider numbers are issued to practitioners so their clients may claim a rebate on their treatment. About 70% of massage clients in SA now want to claim rebates from their Health Funds.
The Academy recommends, for developing a viable business, all students undertake a Remedial Massage Diploma program, so when qualified, your clients may claim a rebate and you, the student can attain full Practitioner status with various Health Funds.
Advanced Diplomas of Musculoskeletal Therapy are offered for those who wish to specialise in these areas or go on to further studies in Bachelor Degrees of Complementary Medicine with Charles Sturt University.
